Day 01 : Arrival – Pinnawala - Kandy
- Arrive in Sri Lanka and meet our airport representative, who will assist you in connecting with your chauffeur/guide for the tour.
- Travel to Pinnawala to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located along the Colombo-Kandy road. Established in 1975 to care for abandoned and injured elephants, the orphanage now houses over 65 elephants, including babies brought from various locations and 14 born through the captive breeding program. The best times to visit are during feeding and bathing, when the elephants are taken to the nearby river.
- Continue to Kandy and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 02 : Kandy
- Breakfast at the hotel, then begin a city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Gem Lapidary, and Batik Factory.
- Kandy, the hill capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings (ceded to the British in 1815), showcases Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage. The city is home to the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic), one of the most sacred sites for Buddhists worldwide.
- Visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, spanning 147 acres and originally a pleasure garden of the Kings of Kandy. The gardens feature over 5,000 species of plants, including rare tropical and endemic flora, along with a Spice Garden and Orchid House.
- In the evening, enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance show and a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
- Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 03 : Kandy – Tea Factory – Spice Garden – Bentota
- Breakfast at the hotel
- After breakfast, begin the Kandy city tour, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Gem Lapidary, Batik Factory, and a visit to a tea factory to enjoy a cup of world-famous Ceylon Tea.
- Tea was first introduced to Sri Lanka in 1824 at Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, with further plants from Assam in 1839. In 1867, James Taylor planted tea seedlings at Loolcondura Estate, and by 1873, tea exports to London began. Tea grows best on rolling terrain and is classified into low-, medium-, and high-grown. By 1996, Sri Lanka produced 258 million kg of tea, exporting 244 million kg and earning Rs. 34,068 million.
- Continue to Mawanella to visit a Spice Garden, experiencing Sri Lanka’s traditional spices and Ayurvedic herbal plants.
Day 04 : Bentota
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Enjoy a boat safari on the Madu River, one of Bentota’s top attractions with 54 islands and rich biodiversity, including fish, monkeys, water monitors, birds, and crocodiles. Cruise through colorful mangroves, explore natural caves, visit a Buddhist temple, Cinnamon Island, and experience fish therapy during the safari.
- Visit a Spice Garden in Mawanella to explore Sri Lanka’s traditional spices and Ayurvedic herbal plants.
- Stop at the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, home to endangered species like the hawksbill turtle. Thanks to local fishermen, tens of thousands of young turtles have been hatched and released since its opening.
- Evening at leisure for water sports in Bentota.
- Overnight stay in Bentota.
Day 05 : Bentota, Colombo, Airport, Departure
- Breakfast at the hotel
- After breakfast, depart for Colombo and enjoy a city tour followed by shopping.
- Explore key areas such as Fort, Pettah, and the upscale Cinnamon Gardens. Visit landmarks including the Hindu Temple at Sea Street, Dutch Church at Wolvendaal (1749), Davatagaha Mosque, Independence Hall, BMICH, Independence Square, and the Avukana Buddha replica.
- Shop at Mlesna Tea Boutique, cashew nut shops, Majestic City, Liberty Plaza, Lanka Ceramics Center for Noritake and other ceramics, and branded stores like Arena, Odel, Independent Arcade, and Colombo City Center.
- Finally, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
